PARKING PLACES RESERVED FOR FIRST TIME GUESTS
Guest parking is provided in the front area of the parking lot located at the left side of the Sanctuary if you are facing the Railroad tracks. You are encouraged to arrive early so that any special need can be accommodated.
HANDICAPPED ACCESS
Handicapped Parking is provided in front of the Sanctuary. There is a lift elevator for those in need of wheelchair accessibility. There is also handicapped parking in the back of the church near the Fellowship Hall for those attending functions in the Fellowship Hall.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I GET THERE?
You will be greeted by someone from our staff, a deacon or one of our church members at the entrance at the front of the church or if you enter through the glass breezeway between the children’s department and the main church building. You will be given information about our church and any questions that you may have will be answered.
CHILDCARE
We offer childcare for preschoolers from six weeks of age through Kindergarten in the Preschool/Children's wing located through the glass breezeway and in the building closest to the parking lot. Our Children's director or one of her staff will assist you. Children may stay in the same classroom during both hours, to allow you to go to Bible Study. If you desire, you will be issued a pager for younger children in case you are needed. Children's Bible Study (Sunday School) is available at 9:30a.m. A greeter can take you to their classroom. During the 10:45 Worship Service there is time for children to have their own children’s sermon. After a short object lesson where children are called to the front of the church, the child may either return to their parents or depart with church workers to the Children’s Building were they will spend time in structured Bible centered activities. At Northside we call this early dismissal “Children’s Church.”
BEFORE SERVICE STARTS
If you arrive before the service begins, you should know there are no reserved seats, please sit where ever you are comfortable. Many people will be greeting each other during this time. You should receive a copy of our weekly bulletin which gives you information on the many happenings at Northside Baptist Church. Many weekly events are also displayed on the facility’s video screen. If you arrive a few minutes late, don’t worry, we won’t mind so please come on in and join us.
WHAT IS WORSHIP LIKE?
You choose the service that fits your needs best.
8:30 a.m. (Blended Service) A casual Worship Service that offers a “small church” feeling inside the larger church. The first 15 minutes or so are spent in song with a high percentage of praise songs and some traditional hymns. Words to the songs are placed on the large video screen at the front of the Sanctuary and we ask you to join in as we make a “joyful noise.” The singing is followed by a sermon by Pastor Jerry. There may also be dramas, solos or special announcements during this time. We often end the service by joining hands and circling around the sanctuary as we close in prayer. There is a time for us to meet and greet you during the worship service. The service normally lasts about 55 minutes
10:45 a.m. (Blended Service) This Worship Service offers a more traditional worship style. Songs selections are still both Praise Songs and traditional hymns, but they are distributed more through out the service. Words to the songs are placed on the large video screen at the front of the Sanctuary. A sermon will be delivered by Pastor Jerry and a Children’s Sermon is given for Children 5th grade and below, but is enjoyed by all. There is also a time for church members to meet and greet our visitors. This service lasts a little over an hour and is closed in prayer.
HOW ARE GUESTS GREETED?
During the worship service, Pastor Jerry will announce a time for us to welcome our visitors. At this time, you may remain seated or you may stand, whatever makes you feel comfortable. You do not have to register or sign you name to anything if you do not wish to; however, we would like to know you were our guest and ask, if you, to please fill out some information on the Visitor cards located on the back of the pew in front of you. We ask that you drop it in the offering plate as your offering, so that we may get to know your needs. If you are visiting from out of town and planning on moving to the Rock Hill area, we would love to know that too. (During this time, while everyone is moving around is also the time when the children come forward to the Children’s Sermon.)
HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN TO STAND?
Dr. Jerry Sosebee ("Pastor Jerry") or the worship leader will ask the congregation to stand or sit.
THE MESSAGE
Pastor Jerry gives Bible-based messages lasting about 20 minutes. His messages are timely and often sprinkled with appropriate humor.
INVITATION
At the end of his message, Pastor Jerry will offer an invitation for anyone who does not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to accept Him. He will also ask those who would like to become part of our church family or to be baptized to make that known. A closing song is then sung while the congregation stands is an opportunity for those people to come to the front of the Sanctuary and talk with a staff member about their needs. This also offers a time for those wanting to go down to our alter and pray a time to do so.
We will ask those who come forward to sit on the front pew and will try to answer any questions you might have and to complete some simple paperwork.
Decisions that can be made for membership:
1. BY PROFESSION OF FAITH – If you are not yet a Christian but would like to be, or if you are a Christian but have never been baptized by immersion as a believer, which the Word of God commands, our pastor will pray with you and guide you in your decision.
2. BY TRANSFER OF LETTER – If you are a Christian and a member of a church of like faith and order, we will write to the church where you are a member and request that a letter of transfer be sent.
3. BY STATEMENT – If you are a Christian and have been baptized as a believer according to the scriptures, and do not either have current membership in a church or are currently a member of a church that does not grant letters of transfer, you can receive membership by your affirmation of the above.
GIVING
Northside Baptist Church does encourage tithing. However, our guests are not expected to give anything. During this time, if you have filled out the Guest perforated portion of the card taken out of the pew in front of you and we do ask you to drop it in the offering plate. If you do not want to have a visit that is fine, but please do give us the opportunity to pray for you by name.
AFTER THE SERVICE
Pastor Jerry generally meets folks as they are exiting from the Sanctuary, so you will have a chance to personally talk with him if you like.
SUNDAY SCHOOL – BIBLE STUDY
We encourage people to check out our Bible Study classes in order to get to know other people just like you.

Greeters inside the Breezeway will be happy to direct you to your class.
