Dr. Jerry K. Sosebee

I have been blessed to be the pastor of Northside Baptist Church since August, 1993.

Before entering the ministry in April, 1976, I had prepared for a career as a dental laboratory technician.  Having graduated from Greenville Technical College with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Dental Laboratory Technology in 1971, I passed the boards and was licensed by the State of South Carolina Dental Association to own and operate an independent dental lab.  I worked for fifteen years in the dental laboratory field, seven of these concurrent with my education for ministry.

When God called me to full-time ministry in 1976, I began to study to prepare myself.  Believing that God wanted me to give Him my best, I prepared and graduated from Anderson College (A.A.), Furman University (B.A.) and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div. with Languages). In 1988, I received the Doctor of Ministry Degree from Erskine Theological Seminary with a concentration in communication in marriage.

I have had the privilege of being the pastor of four wonderful churches. Before coming to Northside, I was the pastor of Keowee Baptist, Six Mile, South Carolina, 1977-1980, Ransdell Chapel, Louisburg, North Carolina, 1980-1984 and First Baptist, Williamston, South Carolina, 1984-1993.

I am married to the love of my life and truly my best friend, Gail Davis, formerly of Greenville.  We have been blessed of God with 35 great years of marriage and with two married sons, two precious daughters-in-law and four grandchildren.

Our oldest son, Joel, is married to Tracy Chamberlain, formerly of Surfside, SC and their sons are Jake Konnor and Benjamin Cody. They live in Charlotte, NC and are active in Northside.

Our youngest son, Drew is married to Tressa Wamer of St. George, SC and their daughters are Anna Catherine and Ebby Elizabeth. They live in St. George and are active in the St. George United Methodist Church.

Through the years we have found that the road has not always been easy but the journey is always exciting and wonderful. We have found that God is true to His word and blesses with grace and mercy as He promised. Our prayer is that along the way we have been able to enrich your journey.
